Order Genova With Medicare
October 1, 2020

We know how important it is for you to get the best pricing for your patients on lab testing.

For some time now, we’ve been able to offer insurance pricing for Genova testing. However, until now, we haven’t been able to process Medicare orders. We know how much of a pain it was to use a separate system for your Medicare patients, and we wanted to do something about that.

We’re excited to announce Medicare/Tricare for Genova testing is officially available on Rupa!
Starting today, for any Genova tests that are covered by Medicare or Tricare, your patients will pay $0 for the test and $0 in Rupa fees. 🙂

Here’s how it works:

  1. Patients with Medicare (as a primary or secondary insurance) will pay $0 for any Medicare-covered Genova tests (note: this is not all of their tests).
  2. Their insurance information will be auto-filled on the requisition form. We get your patient’s insurance info from them up-front when we get their consent and shipping information.
  3. You might be wondering how we make money on this. Well, we don’t. 🙂 This is something that we want to offer your patients because it feels like the right thing to do. We’re excited to be able to do it.

Friendly reminder: You have to be PECOS-enrolled to order through Medicare. Only these practitioners can place orders through Medicare: MD, DO, NP, PA. You won't see the Medicare option in the drop-down if you have a different credential.

Here are the tests covered by Medicare.

One caveat: Per Genova’s policies, this does not include Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, etc. Please make sure your staff and patients recognize this.

As always - we love feedback. Please let us know what you think, or if you have any questions!

Text Patients Their Orders
November 10, 2020
Texting patients their orders leads to higher conversion & shortens the lab testing cycle📱

We know how important it is for you to streamline the process of lab testing. We can now send your patients their orders via text, in addition to email.

Texting orders can lead to 15% higher conversion for patients who might not have gone through with their lab order. Texted orders also get patients to move forward faster, allowing you to get results in faster, and shorten the lab testing cycle. ⚡️

How Texting Works

You’ll enter your patient’s phone number when you’re placing the order, not when you create the patient.

  • Make sure you enter a number that is text-able (ie. not a landline)

You can choose to send the order through email + text, or just email.

  • If a patient isn’t a good fit for texting, no problem! You can switch to just sending them an email.

The first text Rupa sends your patient is a quick consent message.

  • We do this to protect your patients' privacy, since the order link contains sensitive information

We only text your patient once for their original order.

  • We won’t spam your patient or send them marketing content, ever.
  • Reminder messages will only go to patients' email.
  • The shipping update, cheat sheets and check-in will still be sent via email

Patients should still email Rupa for support. We don't yet offer support over text.

Instant Requisitions
September 16, 2020

With the world opening up a little bit, patients starting to come in for in-person visits, and shipping just being somewhat unreliable right now -- we have some BIG news to share!

We’re excited to announce Instant Requisitions are now a part of the Rupa experience! Currently, you can create Instant Requisitions with two labs: US Biotek and BostonHeart.

This means you can use Rupa for kits that you hand to patients in-person! With just a few clicks, you’ll get a completed requisition that you can print out and hand to a patient immediately. And we’ll be there to do all the follow up, education, and results tracking.
(p.s. We’re going to be adding more labs very soon!)

What is an Instant Requisition?

You can now place orders through Rupa for kits that you already have at your office. We still handle payment, and create a filled-out requisition form instantaneously.

Important things to know:

  • You can use instant reqs whether the patient pays or you pay for the testing
  • You can include kits that you want Rupa to drop-ship (non Instant Requisition) in the same order!
  • Instant Requisitions work for both blood draw kits and at-home kits for these two labs
  • We can ship kits to your office to use with Instant Requisitions -  just message us in the portal
  • You’ll need to print these Instant Requisitions to hand to the patient with the kit (or ship out if it’s an in-house blood draw!)
