At Rupa, we started out offering drop-shipped kits for all labs. As of today, you can now use Rupa for your In-Office Kits from 6 of our labs - meaning you can hand a kit to a patient in person, and we’ll still handle the payment, instructions, and follow-ups, specimen issues, and results! 🎉
As we’ve grown, we’ve worked to support many of you who are operating partially in-person, or will eventually be fully in-person again. Our goal at Rupa is to support you whether in-person or virtual, for the long-term!
We also know that some kits are better when handed over in person -- i.e. for drawing blood samples on the spot, getting timing right with hormone panels, etc.
We now offer In-Office kits for:
This has been a long desired feature to minimize the questions you’re getting from your patients! Many patients reach out to check on the status of their tests. Now, patients will get an email from Rupa when samples arrive at the lab. This email will also share the estimated turnaround time. Scheduling a follow-up is now one less item on your plate!
Note: we are only able to share sample information for labs that have this information available - some of our partner labs don’t, unfortunately! :(
Patients sometimes have to hold off on completing a test - because of test preparation, timing, financial reasons, etc. They can now pause an order, and get automatically reminded by Rupa when it’s time to complete the test. If your patient decides to pause their order, we will let you know in the patient’s Order Events in your dashboard.
You can now search and add ICD-10 Diagnosis Codes to every patient order in seconds. This will help your patients create Superbills they can submit to their insurance for reimbursement. It’ll now also be easier to place Genova orders with insurance - with ICD codes right in the ordering portal to select!
We know this has been a practitioner favorite and highly requested lab for a while. We’re so excited to now be partnering with Precision Point to bring you their suite of lab testing. Precision Point is known for Allergy, Sensitivity, and Intestinal Permeability testing. Learn about Precision Point's areas of expertise here.
While you’ve always been able to order add-on tests with Rupa, we now make this easier than ever. When adding a test to your cart, you’ll see the add-ons available right in the ordering panel. You’ll also be able to see add-ons when you click the i (info) on each lab test in the ordering page.
ELISA/ACT Biotechnologies is known for their lymphocyte response assay for detecting delayed hypersensitivities. We've heard from many of you how useful their testing is and are excited to have them on board Rupa! You'll see ELISA/ACT in your catalog and ordering portal when you login. Read more about ELISA/ACT here.
When you’re placing practitioner-pay orders, you no longer have to wait for your patient to enter their shipping information and consent. You can use this box right by the order to bypass this step and speed up your patient's order.
As of today, you’ll be able to see the estimated date for completed results for Genova, DUTCH, Vibrant, and Great Plains Labs, to help you schedule follow-up appointments with patients ahead of time!
Not all of our labs currently calculate these dates, but we're working hard with them to get this for you. For these other labs, you can check our Shipping and Turnaround Times per Lab.
You can now send results to patients with one click directly from your Rupa portal. Your patient will receive a secure link to access their results. No more back-and-forth - it's a win-win-win! 😁
Do you have a favorite mobile phlebotomist you want your patients to use? Want them to come to your clinic for draws? Now, you can set phlebotomy choices for your clinic that'll be sent to all your patients to be sent in their cheat sheet emails 🙌🏼
Set your custom phlebotomists here
Note: By default, we direct your patients to the lab's phlebotomy resources. Some labs have online directories, other labs will guide patients over the phone.
We know how important it is for you to streamline the process of lab testing. We can now send your patients their orders via text, in addition to email.
Texting orders can lead to 15% higher conversion for patients who might not have gone through with their lab order. Texted orders also get patients to move forward faster, allowing you to get results in faster, and shorten the lab testing cycle. ⚡️
You’ll enter your patient’s phone number when you’re placing the order, not when you create the patient.
You can choose to send the order through email + text, or just email.
The first text Rupa sends your patient is a quick consent message.
We only text your patient once for their original order.
Patients should still email Rupa for support. We don't yet offer support over text.
We know how important it is for you to get the best pricing for your patients on lab testing.
For some time now, we’ve been able to offer insurance pricing for Genova testing. However, until now, we haven’t been able to process Medicare orders. We know how much of a pain it was to use a separate system for your Medicare patients, and we wanted to do something about that.
Here’s how it works:
Friendly reminder: You have to be PECOS-enrolled to order through Medicare. Only these practitioners can place orders through Medicare: MD, DO, NP, PA. You won't see the Medicare option in the drop-down if you have a different credential.
One caveat: Per Genova’s policies, this does not include Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, etc. Please make sure your staff and patients recognize this.
As always - we love feedback. Please let us know what you think, or if you have any questions!
With the world opening up a little bit, patients starting to come in for in-person visits, and shipping just being somewhat unreliable right now -- we have some BIG news to share!
We’re excited to announce In-Office Kits are now a part of the Rupa experience! Currently, you can use Rupa with In Office-kits with two labs: US Biotek and BostonHeart.
This means you can use Rupa for kits that you hand to patients in-person! With just a few clicks, you’ll get a completed requisition that you can print out and hand to a patient immediately. And we’ll be there to do all the follow up, education, and results tracking.
(p.s. We’re going to be adding more labs very soon!)
What is an In-Office Kit?
You can now place orders through Rupa for kits that you already have at your office. We still handle payment, and create a filled-out requisition form instantaneously.
If you have any questions, thoughts, or feedback, we would love to hear it! Are there other labs you want In-Office Kits for? Let us know here!
We know many of you have requested this, and it’s here! We now allow you to link together practitioner's accounts who are practicing within one clinic. You can also create separate accounts for your staff members.
With a Clinic Account, you will be able to:
With Staff Accounts, your staff members will be able to:
Do you have multiple practitioners or staff members on your team? We can get you set up with this! Just email us at email@example.com or respond to this email.
Edit an order after you’ve sent it
Yes, we know a lot of you have been waiting for this! For orders that are patient-pay, you can now make updates after you’ve placed the order, before your patient has paid.
