Use Physician Services to collaborate with a nationally-licensed physician.

Whether using LabShops or Custom Carts, choose 'Physician Services' as your signing practitioner to request a license physician to order your client's testing.

Your client gets an email about their testing.

Your client provides their demographic information and consents to Physician Services.

The signing physician reviews and places the order with the lab as needed.

When results are in, the signing physician reviews for any critical values and releases to you and your client at the same time.

The nationally-licensed signing physician is responsible for reviewing, ordering, and checking lab results for critical values.

Example Use Cases

Reed is a nutritionist in Georgia, where his clients frequently come to him asking for support in monitoring and changing their nutritional health. Reed is part of his clients’ care team, in addition to their primary care physician.

Reed’s clients often want to get functional medicine testing done to check on nutritional values and, when asked for guidance, Reed may send tests for his clients to consider through Rupa’s Physician Services, always directing his clients to review any labs they choose to order with their physician. When working through lifestyle and nutrition changes, Reed supports his clients along the way.

Dr. Lisa is an MD in Iowa who runs a functional medicine practice. She sees patients from a variety of financial backgrounds. Though she typically sees each patient before ordering them testing, sometimes her clients know what testing they want done, and would rather bring completed results to their first appointment.

In this case, Dr. Lisa has set up a LabShop through Rupa with tests that she frequently orders for patients. Through the LabShop, clients can purchase their own testing using Rupa’s Physician Services. Once their results are in, they can bring their results to Dr. Lisa during their first appointment.

Things to know

Results will be released to you and your client at the same time.

You will not be able to use Insurance, Medicare, or In-Office Kits for these tests.

There is an additional $10 per kit when using Physician Services.

You will not be able to consult with the signing MD or schedule clinical consults with the labs.

If there is a critical result, the signing physician will call your client directly.
