A lipid panel is a blood test that measures the amount of lipids in the blood. The panel usually includes four different cholesterol measurements and triglycerides.

Too many lipids (hyperlipidemia) in the blood can lead to buildup in the blood vessels and arteries, which can cause damage and increase cardiovascular risk.
