Alkaline Phosphatase - This test measures the level of alkaline phosphatase enzyme in the blood. The test is often used to diagnose liver disease or bone disorders. Moderate elevations of alkaline phosphatase may be seen in several other conditions, including Hodgkin's disease, congestive heart failure, ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis, and intra-abdominal bacterial infections. Elevations are also observed during the third trimester of pregnancy.
