The Hepatic Function Panel is designed to help in assessing liver damage, diagnosing liver conditions, and monitoring the treatment of liver diseases as well as the side effects of drugs that may harm the liver. This test checks levels of albumin, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin (calculated), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT).
