The MethylDetox Profile detects variants in genes involved in the methyl detoxification pathway and homocysteine metabolism. Genetic variations in this pathway can lead to a variety of chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative disorders. This is the swab version of the test. If ordered with an Alcat or other Cell Science Systems blood test, the blood version of this test will be sent.

This test detects genetic SNPs that affect the methylation pathway. This test can only be added to the Methylation Panel. It cannot be ordered for patients under two years of age.
