Proteus mirabilis

What's
Proteus mirabilis
?
Proteus mirabilis is a gram-negative bacterium commonly found in the human gastrointestinal tract, and has been implicated in urinary tract infections. It can be used as an indicator of intestinal permeability and dysbiosis, or imbalance in gut bacteria populations. Altered levels have been associated with changes in intestinal activity leading to loose stools and diarrhea.
